In such uncertain times, working from home can be a challenge. For many SBN members, this means having to adapt to a new working environment, adjusted business practices, and maintaining a schedule that still allows for effective productivity.

To help members stay positive and adjust to disruptions, SBN members shared some helpful work-from-home tips for fellow SBN members. Here are a few of our favorites:

Tiffany Dorin, Battery-Biz, Inc

“Though it’s easy to just roll out of bed, stay in your pajamas, and sit down in front of your computer (or even stay in bed with your laptop on your lap), it makes such a huge difference in your attitude, presence, and productivity when you actually get up and get ready for your work day the same way you would when going into the office.

That doesn’t mean that you have to have a full face of makeup or wear your most professional outfit, but putting the time and effort into getting yourself ready to take on the day can go a long way.”

Charlene Bower, SBN Select Committee Member

“Create a true workspace for your desk. Hopefully it can be somewhere that at the end of the day you can shut the door, turn off the light or turn your back so you are not wanting to engage past your work hours. You did enough. You did a great job. Take your personal time.”

Lana Chrisman, Lions Automobilia Foundation

"Stay informed but not overwhelmed. When you find yourself hitting sensory overload from negative information, switch to something positive, something that relaxes you."

Cathy Clark, Bob Cook Sales

“Update your tech skills...enroll in an online class regarding excel or some other application that you use regularly.”
