The SBN is excited to announce a fully updated mobile-ready website, www.sema.org/she-is-sema, where you can check out prior Member Spotlight’s, see who “She” is, and as a place to nominate you or someone you know who makes great strides in the automotive aftermarket industry.

October’s #SheIsSEMA is Kathryn Reinhardt. Throughout the past few years, Kathryn has made many amazing accomplishments including in 2015 when she was awarded SEMA Woman of the Year, along with being the Truck and Off-Road Alliance Chairman.

SEMA Businesswomen’s Network started #SheIsSEMA to bring a spotlight on the amazing and talented women of the automotive industry and to empower others to pursue a similar career path.  Below is an insightful Q&A with Kathryn.

The best advice I ever received was…

Don't take "no" as an answer. Find a way to make it "yes".

This keeps me in the industry:

I enjoy being able to tell people I work in the automotive industry. Partly because they are surprised I am a woman in automotive but also because I am getting paid to do what I love.

On a Saturday, you can find me…

Attending local car shows, travelling to national events or teaching my toddler boys how to drift their big wheels.

When going into an important meeting I am always…

Taking notes and asking questions. I want to learn more and remember it for future opportunities.

If I could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, it would be…

Linda Vaughn. I bet she has some crazy stories about how the industry used to be and how she overcame being female in this industry. I'm sure she has some sound advice for all of us.

Just a week after the SEMA Show and into the month of November, the SBN announced that this month’s #SheIsSEMA Member Spotlight is dedicated to Tara Hitzig from Automobile Driving Museum. Take a look at her Q&A with SEMA and the SBN below:

The best advice I ever received was…

Always do your best, never make assumptions, don't take anything personally and be impeccable with your word.

This keeps me in the industry:

The people - the community.  The good people I meet every day who love cars and love people more!

On a Saturday, you can find me…

At either a car show at the museum or watching my son's travel hockey games.

When going into an important meeting I am always…

hoping it makes me smile when done....

If I could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, it would be…

Alice Huyler Ramsey - first woman to drive across America....
