SBN Select Committee

By Sara Morosan, SBN Chair

Each year, the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) select committee meets in person to reflect on our progress and set goals for the future. This past March, we gathered to assess what’s working, where we can grow, and how we can make a lasting impact. The result is the SBN 5-Year Plan—a bold, strategic commitment to advancing women across the automotive industry.

More than just a roadmap, this plan reflects SBN’s mission to increase visibility, create leadership opportunities, and deliver valuable resources that help women thrive.

2025: Increasing Visibility & Recognition
We’re hitting the ground running by amplifying our media presence. Through partnerships with influencers, podcasts, and the launch of a new video mini-series, we’re spotlighting the remarkable women in our network. New recognition programs—including certifications, achievement pins, and personalized engagement tools—will celebrate our members. We’re also teaming up with nonprofit organizations to expand our reach and impact through our expansion of the SBN Booth at the SEMA Show to include partnering organizations. The partnerships will add education and engagement with more opportunities for women to engage and learn at the largest show in our industry. SBN continues to provide top notch networking and leadership education at the Women’s Leadership Forum.

2026: Expanding Awareness & Allyship
In 2026, we’ll build on our momentum by launching an Ally Program to engage new partners in our mission. We’re introducing an interactive booth experience and a podcast studio to keep the conversation going year-round. Strategic ad campaigns and communications will help grow our community and strengthen our presence across digital platforms.

2027: Inspiring Through Connection & Innovation
We’re creating new opportunities for engagement, including annual East Coast events and a national Ambassador Program. A highlight of the year will be the launch of the SheIs Innovation Challenge—honoring women driving innovation and breaking barriers. We’ll also unveil an online SBN merchandise store and new member welcome packets to deepen community connection.

2028: Elevating Education & Honoring the Past
In 2028, we’re doubling down on in-person networking and learning. We’ll publish a comprehensive “State of the Industry” report to track progress and highlight women’s advancement. Additionally, we’ll work to preserve the legacy of SEMA and PRI, recognizing the trailblazers who came before us.

2029: Regional Growth & a Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, 2029 will mark the launch of SBN chapters across key U.S. regions—each led by passionate advocates for change. We’ll also begin laying the groundwork for an exciting 2032 Build Project, inviting volunteers, stakeholders, and supporters to join us in creating something truly special.
