From July 23-25, the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) Select Committee joined fellow SEMA volunteer leaders at the 2025 Council and Network Summit in Universal City, California. The annual summit gathered Select Committee members from all SEMA networks and councils for three days of collaboration, strategy and innovation—all aimed at strengthening the association’s volunteer programs and enhancing member value.
Throughout the summit, SBN Select Committee representatives engaged in a packed agenda, including deep dives into membership engagement, program evaluation, communication strategies and volunteer recruitment. Sessions like the “Program Deep Dive,” “Membership Deep Dive,” and “Share and Learn” provided space for committees to reflect on their current initiatives and brainstorm new ideas with peers across the industry.
Armed with tools like the Bergmann Program Evaluation Model and guided by conversations with fellow volunteer leaders, the SBN team left with actionable strategies that will directly inform the network’s future events, educational content and member resources. Whether enhancing onboarding for new members or elevating flagship programs, the insights gained are being reinvested into every project the committee oversees.
“Attending the Council Summit isn’t just about learning. It’s about bringing those lessons back to better serve our members,” said Aliceje Keyburn. “We’re already working to apply what we learned to our fall and 2026 planning.”
SBN is proud to have a Select Committee dedicated not just to participating, but to growing, listening and leading with purpose. Keep an eye out for new resources and experiences shaped by this year’s Summit takeaways—because when our volunteers grow, our whole network thrives.
