Editors, reporters and social media influencers are preparing to meet with MPMC members for the 2021 Media Trade Conference, where they will gather content and conduct interviews to use in stories and posts that will reach consumers from all over the world. Taking place entirely online, the Media Trade Conference is a unique event that brings manufacturers of racing and performance parts and accessories together with media in up to 42 private, 30-minute meetings over a span of three days.

“For nearly 25 years, MPMC members have been building strong, quality relationships with journalists at the Media Trade Conference,” said MPMC Chair Rob Fisher. “We’re excited about the upcoming event and look forward to getting the word out about our new products and plans for the 2021 race season.”

Taking place entirely online, this year’s event is easy to join and has attracted a record high of more than 250 media representatives, including many from outside the United States. The platform’s new virtual ballroom allows for private meetings between media and manufacturers, both of whom receive personalized schedules created just for them.

“When we moved the MTC to an online format, we knew there was an opportunity to reach new media, particularly international, who hadn’t experienced the event before.” Fisher noted. “So we’re naturally excited to see that come to fruition. As for the event itself, meetings will be similar to a live video conference, where manufacturers can show a video or a PowerPoint and share product information. The platform allows for a lot of versatility when it comes to content.”

As many media companies shift to digital platforms and social media influencers play a bigger role in communicating with consumers and enthusiasts, the media participation at the Media Trade Conference has also shifted. More than two dozen influential Youtubers, Instagramers and brand ambassadors are set to participate in the conference, and the council is helping members prepare and understand the value in doing so.
