Media Trade Conference Interview Tips for Exhibitors

 

The MPMC Media Trade Conference is back in person for 2023 and will take place at a new location: The Embassy Suites in Garden Grove, California, January 24–26.

Members exhibiting at the event should prepare to take part in up to 42 private, 30-minute meetings that will contribute to increased brand and product awareness.  

Check out our tips and tricks for a successful event:

  • Know your outlet. Not all outlets are the same. Bring material and digital resources that can assist the media in reporting on your business or product, whether it be for print, radio/podcasts, video, online or social media. You'll receive a preliminary schedule the week of Jan. 9. Do your research and be familiar with the outlets, but be prepared and have generic materials for media that may add you to their schedules onsite.
  • Prepare your "pitch." This is your chance to update media on important news that is relevant to your company. Give product demonstrations, prepare talking points on your products, and share your plans for the future race season.  
  • Have a point of contact. The best takeaway is knowing you've created quality relationships with media who can boost your business's exposure. Identify and provide the media with your designated point-of-contact – someone who will continue to develop a relationship and be a resource for the media all year long.
