More than 25 young aftermarket leaders learned how to unlock greater levels of career success during the SEMA Future Leaders Network (FLN) Professional Development Program (PDP) held in May at the SEMA Garage Detroit.

Focusing on Team Leadership Development and hosted in partnership with Dale Carnegie Training, the program equipped attendees with the skills to become stronger leaders in their organizations. Through immersive workshops, hands-on activities, and peer collaboration, participants gained practical takeaways for leading effectively while building their confidence and communication skills.

“I cannot say enough great things about the training and the experience,” said Tariq Ghani of Timbren Industries. “I was challenged enough to identify my weaknesses, and I found ways to turn them into strengths by engaging with my like-minded peers in our class both one-on-one as well as in groups.”

The cohort of students represents the inaugural class of the PDP’s Team Leadership Development Course. Building upon the success of the PDP’s Individual Communications Course offered from 2022- 2024, the Team Leadership Course focuses on a relationship-centered approach to leadership, providing leaners with a comprehensive toolkit for becoming the type of leader required in today’s workforce.

“Watching students come out of their comfort zone and emerge themselves into the material and breakout sessions was inspiring,” said FLN Director Denise Waddingham. “The aftermarket industry is lucky to have such ambitious leaders who are on track to drive positive change in the industry.”
