The SEMA Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) will showcase an award-winning 1973 Datsun 240Z at the Japanese Classic Car Show (JCCS), taking place Saturday, October 3, at Marina Green Park in Long Beach, California.
Each year, ARMO selects a builder to showcase a vehicle in its JCCS booth. This year’s featured vehicle belongs to original owner Bob Russell, who purchased the Datsun new after returning to the United States from a 1972 Navy deployment to Vietnam.
The 240Z served as Russell’s daily driver from 1973 to 1990 before undergoing a ground-up, bare-metal restoration in his home garage from 2018 to 2019.
The restoration has since earned several honors:
- 2021: First Place, Stock Class, ZCON
- 2022: First in Class, Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance
- 2025: First Place, Huntington Beach Concours d’Elegance
