Law and OrderDelaware Emissions: Legislation was approved by the Transportation, Land Use and Infrastructure Committee to extend the emissions-inspection exemption for new cars from five to seven model years. Emissions inspections are required for vehicles being registered or titled for the first time and are then biennial based on the vehicle’s model year (during registration renewals). The bill has now been sent to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote by all members.

Senate Joins House in Support of RPM Act of 2017

Washington, D.C. (January 24, 2017) – Today, the U.S. Senate joined the House of Representatives in reintroducing the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act of 2017 (RPM Act). The bipartisan bill (S.203), introduced by Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), protects Americans’ right to modify street cars and motorcycles into dedicated race vehicles and industry’s right to sell the parts that enable racers to compete.

RPM Act Gets a Fast Start in 2017

SEMA Garage Holds Open House Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

Diamond Bar, CA (August 2, 2016) – Hundreds of motorsports manufacturers, racers, celebrities and supporters gathered at the SEMA Garage’s annual Open House on July 28, where they got a firsthand look at SEMA’s state-of-the-art facility. The Industry Innovation Center gives auto parts manufacturers a convenient way to test their cars and products to ensure they meet state and federal regulations. In fact, this year’s Open House featured the Garage’s emissions compliance center.
