Global Media AwardsTo highlight and recognize the global reach of vehicle personalization and customization, the 2015 SEMA Show marked the 12th time a prestigious global panel of 31 journalists from 19 countries was charged with selecting 10 products each from the New Products Showcase that they believed would resonate among consumers in their markets. The task was made more difficult in that this year’s New Products Showcase featured the largest number of new products ever—more than 2,700—covering the broad span of the industry from performance-street to Off-Road/4WD and street-rod/custom car products.

Nearly 160 SEMA Show exhibitors were notified on Wednesday morning of the recent 2014 SEMA Show that one or more of their products were Global Media Award winners. Twenty-six international journalists sitting on an elite panel from 15 countries chose the products.

Receiving three Global Media Awards was “probably the biggest highlight out of a week full of highlights for WipeNew,” commented first-time SEMA Show exhibitor Wipe New’s Vice President Nick Naylor.

SEMA Show Confirms Strong Specialty-Equipment Industry

The 2013 SEMA Show is history and has left no doubt that the automotive specialty-equipment industry is stronger than ever. While final attendance figures are being audited, organizers report that more than 126,000 credentials were issued prior to the event, with thousands more processed onsite. The numbers represented a 7% increase over the previous year, and the highest in SEMA Show history.
