In the new position, he will provide full fiduciary oversight over the agency’s operations as well as direct and track progress on all agency work projects while providing some human resources duties. Lighting and electronics specialist Hella and leading automotive technology company Faurecia have announced a strategic partnership for the development of innovative interior lighting solutions. The companies will jointly develop lighting with high-technology content in the domain of surface lighting and dynamic lighting for a more personalized cockpit environment. Faurecia will contribute its expertise as a complete system integrator for vehicle interiors, and Hella will supply innovative products in the field of interior lighting. Permatex received a 2018 Automotive Communications Award in the Best Business to Consumer-Article/Blog/Content Piece category for the company’s technical feature, “10 Most Common Epoxy Mistakes.” The award was presented during the 2018 Automotive Communications Award ceremony by Women in Auto Care. The feature focuses on the 10 most common mistakes consumers make when using epoxy adhesives and was provided to media, distributors, bloggers, content managers and industry websites across the automotive aftermarket, along with a complementary instructional YouTube video.

Airtex-ASC named Trevor Lilovich to the position of account manager, according to Charles Harris, senior director of sales and marketing for Airtex-ASC. Prior to joining Airtex-ASC, Lilovich served as business-development manager for Brake Parts Inc., where he partnered with distributor customers to help develop mutually profitable relationships. Lilovich has also held positions at Valvoline and Hertz.

Nitrous Express (NX) acquired Snow Performance. Matt Snow and Jake Snow will join the NX team on a consultant basis to aid in future product development and to capitalize on future business opportunities. Hellwig Suspension Products announced that Brett Kinsfather has taken on the role of director of sales and marketing, and Karen Grassel has joined the company as its new customer-service manager. Kinsfather came to Hellwig with a strong marketing and sales background, having worked extensively with both manufacturers and distribution. Hopkins Manufacturing Corp. announced the addition of Duke R. Vair as vice president of human resources and chief human resources officer. Race Winning Brands Inc. announced the acquisition of Falicon Crankshaft Components Inc., representing the company’s fourth add-on acquisition. Falicon’s former owner, Glenn Salpaka, will continue to play a leading role within the organization as technical and operations consultant. American Powertrain was named the 2018 Elite Performer by TREMEC Transmissions. The Coker Group announced its acquisition by Coker President and CEO Wade Kawasaki and the current Coker Group leadership team in partnership with Irving Place Capital. Kawasaki will remain at the helm of the company. The Coker Group will continue to operate under the same leadership team and staff that helped drive it while expanding both its range of products and portfolio of companies. Matthew Wolfe of Rebersburg, Pennsylvania, was named the 2018 Mitchell 1/Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Technician of the Future during the ASE Fall Board of Governors Meeting and Annual Technician Awards. Wolfe studied automotive technology at Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania, and diesel industrial technology at Universal Technical Institute in Exton, Pennsylvania. Motor Trend named the ’19 Genesis G70 the recipient of its 2019 Car of the Year award at the annual Motor Trend awards ceremony held in conjunction with the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Mobility Show. It marks the first time that a Genesis has taken the honor. The G70 competed against 19 other contenders in Motor Trend’s evaluation of the most competent, desirable and capable vehicles to debut for the ’19 model year.

CRP Automotive received the Best Performance Product Award from the Import Vehicle Community at its annual Import Products and Marketing Awards ceremony during the 2018 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo Show. The award was given for the Rein automotive aluminum water pump pulley and belt kit.

Sonoma Speed Festival named racer and car enthusiast Ryan Turri the event’s new general manager. The race and festival is set for May 31–June 2, 2019, at Sonoma Raceway. The raceway reported that Turri has been touring the country to invite racers and collectors to participate in the new event and hired the PR firm Tony Fay Public Relations to tell the story and vision of the event. Turri, a member of Porsche R Gruppe, has run a Northern California Porsche restoration and customization business specializing in designing and building custom air-cooled 911s.

Leslie Allen, Martin & Co.’s PR director and event manager, was honored with the Tampa Bay chapter of the Public Relations Society of America PRestige Awards, receiving the President’s Award for her work as co-chair of the event. Chapter President Mary Margaret Hull, APR, presented the award to Allen for her outstanding work in coordinating the event with the help of the PRestige Awards Committee. Martin & Co.
