A Message From Roy Littlefield

TIA Executive Vice President

  Roy Littlefield

On behalf of the Tire Industry Association (TIA), it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2018 Global Tire Expo (GTE)—Powered by TIA and the SEMA Show in the wonderful city of Las Vegas. We are confident that our partner, SEMA, has worked tirelessly to bring another successful four-day event for all car and tire enthusiasts to enjoy.

For more than 20 years, TIA has proudly partnered with the SEMA Show to bring a special area of the Show specific to tire dealers and the tire community—The Global Tire Expo! GTE focuses on promoting all aspects of the tire industry and providing a variety of educational and networking opportunities. This is closely related to our mission at TIA, which is to promote tire safety through training and education, to act as the principal advocate in government affairs, and to enhance the image and professionalism of the industry so that our member businesses may be more successful.

This year, with our training and education, we are looking forward to introducing some exciting new educational sessions. All of the sessions will cover several key topics from understanding how to prevent irregular treadwear to looking into the vehicle service industry five to 10 years from now. They will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center and include: Understanding Original Equipment TPMS, Wheel Torque for Trucks and Trailers, Successful Tire Dealers Share Their Secrets, Puncture Repair Facts, Preventing Irregular Treadwear, TIA’s 2018 Legislative Review, and Servicing the Next Generation of Consumers and Vehicles.

TIA plays an important role in supporting legislative and advocacy matters that impact the industry’s growth and well-being. We invite you to join our 2018 Legislative Review that focuses on how new laws and regulations currently impact the tire industry and its potential impact on the midterm elections. This session will be held Wednesday, October 31, from 12:00 p.m.–
1:00 p.m. in the South Hall room S106.

We would like to send a special thank you to all of our TIA members for attending this year’s Show and for your unwavering support and commitment to TIA and our mission.

Finally, we encourage everyone to take advantage of all the resources and opportunities that Global Tire Expo and TIA has to offer and be sure to come by and see us at our Booth #40069. Thank you for being a part of this experience and we hope you enjoy your stay in Las Vegas!

Sincerely,

Roy Littlefield
