Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket announced that Sales Technical Training Specialist Sean Lannoo was nominated for the Tire Industry Association (TIA) 2017 board of directors. Lannoo was one of 14 industry professionals nominated for the position. TIA members will select four candidates to serve three-year terms on the board. Transamerican Wholesale announced that Jason Brown, owner of Jays Tires in Turlock, California, won a brand-new ’17 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the grand prize in the company’s latest truck giveaway. Advanced Clean Air Technologies (ACAT) Global LLC announced that its Charlevoix, Michigan, location was named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency California Air Resources Board (CARB) to become a canner for aftermarket catalytic converters in California with a CARB-approved catalyst supplier (using ceramic and metallic substrates). The company can now submit exemption applications to CARB for aftermarket catalytic converters, subject to compliance with California evaluation procedures for new aftermarket catalytic converters. RealTruck undertook an organizational restructure to align departments and leaders more closely with company objectives to optimize performance. A key change was the appointment of Dan Strezo as vice president of the merchandising department. An industry veteran with 27 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket industry and 13 years in online retail, Strezo now oversees category managers, brand managers, vendor relations and research and development. Driven Performance Brands announced the acquisition of APR Performance from Mangrove Equity Partners LP. APR is a designer and manufacturer of performance software tuning solutions and highly engineered hardware products, including turbo systems and air intake, exhaust and suspension components for Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen vehicles. Alberto Bombassei, Brembo chairman and president, was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame. GCommerce was awarded a United States patent for a method to provide an electronic functional acknowledgement of a document exchange, even when the trading partner’s system is incapable of producing the acknowledgement. Primary inventor Jason Popillion is the chief technology officer for GCommerce and is a member of the leadership team for the Technology Standards
Committee

Flow Dry Technology acquired the assets of Elliott Manufacturing Co. (EMC) in a deal that combines the two manufacturers based in Brookville, Ohio. Founded in 1973 by Milton Sr. and Anna Elliott, the family-owned company has been Flow Dry’s supplier of quality plastic injection-molded parts since 1986. EMC’s material expertise includes engineering-grade thermoplastics, filled nylons and molded rubber, among others. The company manufactures a wide variety of injection-molded plastic parts and partial and complete assemblies for the automotive, aerospace, medical and consumer products industries.

Superchargers Online was named as the first Eaton Authorized Service Center in North America. This new designation allows Superchargers Online to offer repair and rebuild services utilizing Eaton factory parts for OEM and aftermarket Eaton-based hybrid roots superchargers. This new designation enables Superchargers Online to rebuild or repair Eaton superchargers for a fraction of the cost of a new replacement, giving vehicle owners, dealership service centers and repair shops a more cost-effective option. Galpin Motors announced that its chairman and CEO, Bert Boeckmann, was presented with Ford Motor Company’s first Dealer Hall of Fame award in recognition of his lifetime of achievement, outstanding performance and inspirational leadership. Denso International America Inc. received an Excellence in Partnership Award from Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. for exceptional quality, delivery performance and cost-program participation. Excellence in Partnership Awards recognize top-performing suppliers meeting the criteria. This is the second consecutive year Subaru has awarded Denso its Excellence in Partnership award. Airtex/ASC named industry veteran Bruce Tartaglione as its senior strategist of new-business development. In this role, Tartaglione will lead new-business development strategies for the aftermarket, leveraging Airtex/ASC core business competencies to drive future growth.

Schwartz Performance was awarded the Pro-Builder of the Year title during the Car Craft Magazine Summer Nationals. This year, Schwartz entered a custom pearl-orange ’70 Plymouth Barracuda powered by a supercharged Gen-III 426ci Hemi with more than 800 hp and driven from the right-hand side.
