Hunter Engineering Co. was awarded the Women in Auto Care 2016 Automotive Communication Award in both the Magazine Article and Merchandising categories. The Automotive Communication Award for Magazine Article featured Tire Review’s coverage of Hunter Engineering’s real-world applications of the “Shop of the Future” concept, designed to improve customer satisfaction and boost the service provider’s bottom line. The Automotive Communication Award for Merchandising featured Hunter’s Road Force Counter Display, which assists counter personnel in explaining properly balanced wheels and vehicle vibration. Tenneco’s Rancho performance suspension and shock brand will return as the official sponsor of one of North America’s top adventure Jeep excursion and event organizations, Jeep Jamboree USA, for its 2017 adventure program. Through the Rancho partnership, participants in Jeep Jamboree events will be eligible for several Rancho product giveaways and contests, have a chance to experience Rancho products firsthand on designated Jeep Jamboree routes and learn more about event-specific Rancho offers. Raybestos announced that Vincent Cerra of Cerra Automotive in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is the winner of the Raybestos Mustang. The car was presented to Cerra during the 2016 SEMA Show. Modifications to the Mustang included a G-Machine Chassis, a Ford Performance Coyote engine, a Silver Sport transmission and Vintage Air and Dakota Digital instrumentation.

Recent efforts by Kooks Headers and Exhaust to export performance products to new markets have gained national attention. The company has been awarded an eExport Achievement Certificat from the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce in recognition of recent accomplishments in opening and expanding its aftermarket exhaust market in the Middle East. Kooks officials accepted the certificate from Andres Castrillon, automotive team leader for the International Trade Administration, during the 2016 SEMA Show. VP Racing Fuels redesigned its website, www.vpracingfuels.com, according to Chris Wall, the company’s chief marketing officer. The new site is intended to make it easier for customers to locate product information. Among its improvements, the new platform is clearly segmented between product lines and applications. McCullough Public Relations Inc. was was named the official public relations agency of record for Baja Designs of San Marcos, California. Calumet Specialty Products Partners LP—an independent producer of specialty hydrocarbon and fuels products—announced the creation of an authorized distributor program for qualified lubricant distributors to actively market all of Calumet’s premium-branded products: Bel-Ray, Quantum, Royal Purple and TruFuel. The program includes a volume rebate incentive, business development fund and comprehensive marketing and technical support. Wicklunds Collision in Liberty, Missouri, celebrates selfless acts by collision professionals benefitting their communities. The Body Shop Image Award, presented to Carstar Macon in Georgia, highlights facilities impacting their communities with building and design improvements. The Excellence in Community Service Award, presented to Kathy Mello of TGIF Body Inc., in Fremont, California, recognizes outstanding charitable efforts and volunteerism.

Women in Auto Care, formerly the Car Care Council Women’s Board, presented Summer Miller with the Kathleen Schmatz Scholarship for $10,000 as part of the Women in Auto Care scholarship program. Miller is a student in automotive technology at Brookhaven College in Decatur, Texas. This year, Women in Auto Care gave away $60,000 in scholarships to young women. Air Lift Co. was selected as one of the 100 best places to work in the Midwest by the Detroit Free Press in a special edition of the newspaper. The list features companies of all sizes from the Midwest region. The companies recognized on the list were selected by Workplace Dynamics LLC, a research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement through the results of an employee survey. This survey measured aspects that included leadership practices and managerial skills, inside communication, potential career growth, the work environment and overall pay and benefits satisfaction. The National Auto Body Council recognized three individuals whose efforts illustrate the vision and mission of the organization. The Award of Distinction, presented to Gerald Wicklund of Carstar Wicklunds Collision in Liberty, Missouri, celebrates selfless acts by collision professionals, benefitting their communities. Power Automedia hired Ed Zinke to lead its sales team as the company’s national sales manager. He will oversee business development and sales leadership for all digital automotive media products, including display advertising, video, SpeedVideo live broadcasts and sponsorships. Zinke brings a rich background in the automotive aftermarket, beginning his career in retail sales and marketing before moving into product development and brand marketing at manufacturing firms. Denso Products and Services Americas Inc. added three new training classes to its selection of automotive repair courses. The classes expand Denso’s technical training program, developed to ensure that technicians have the diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to repair vehicles efficiently and correctly the first time. The following classes are joining Denso’s roster in 2017: Advanced Circuit & Electrical Testing, Evaporative Emissions Systems, and Ford Engine Performance.
