Vipar Heavy Duty named Beth San Filippo its new controller. San Filippo joined Vipar Heavy Duty and its family of companies in November 2011 and most recently was accounting manager. Before joining Vipar Heavy Duty, San Filippo was a senior tax accountant for Ameritech Credit Corp. and a senior staff accountant for Kessler Orlean Silver & Co. She is a cer-tified public accountant and a graduate of Southern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Truck Hero Inc. announced the strategic acquisition of Husky Liners. The transaction terms were not disclosed. The transaction marks Truck Hero’s 10th acquisition since its formation in 2007 and is well aligned with the company’s growth strategy of continuing to acquire businesses within the vehicle accessory market that further diversify its product portfolio into other high-growth segments. The international technology company Continental acquired Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. Founded in 1957, Hoosier supplies tires for most racing applications throughout the world, with an emphasis on high-performance and quality. The company currently employs nearly 500 people. Continental and Hoosier have worked together over the past several years on a variety of technical and motorsports projects. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Acme Manufacturing Co. named G.A. “Fritz” Carlson III its president, CEO and majority shareholder. He joined Acme in 1984 and has been involved in the company’s strategic global growth for more than 32 years. He is the fourth-generation family member to become owner of Acme. He is an active member of the Association for Manufacturing Technology, the Robotics Industry Association and the Young Presidents Organization. Champion Brands LLC received official certification for ISO 9001:2015 compliance from DEKRA—its official registrar—effective September 13, 2016. The company completed the required audits with zero nonconformities, making Champion Brands LLC one of the first companies in the United States to be upgraded to the 2015 standard and recertified as ISO compliant. Champion General Manager Rick Pereles coordinated the effort with the certification organization to complete the review process and obtain the certificate for the Quality Management System.

High Teck announced the relaunch of its new website, The newly redesigned website features easy access to product data sheets, detailed product descriptions, dynamic 3D images, video product demos and more.

Solar Gard announced that Driven Public Relations is now its agency of record. A division of global glass and building technology company Saint-Gobain, Solar Gard is now working with Driven to elevate its brand and reintroduce Clearshield Pro Paint Protection Film, Ultra Performance Plus Window Film and a full portfolio of automotive window films. The Monroe Shockmobiles traveled more than 10,000 miles through the United States and Canada this past summer. This year’s tour celebrated the Monroe brand’s 100th anniversary and continued its emphasis on the consumer-education campaign titled “Everything Gets Old. Even Your Shocks.” The Monroe Shockmobiles and the Monroe Brand Ambassadors completed hundreds of stops at consumer events and provided Monroe partners with content and visibility through their own social pages. The Shockmobiles and respective tow vehicles featured 100th-anniversary graphics and “Made for the Road Ahead” messages plus a 50,000-mile inspection reminder.

Grote Global Vice President of Operations Tom Blades was named Executive Leader of the Year during the 74th annual Ideas America training summit held in Atlanta in September. The award recognizes the importance of executive management’s support of employee involvement through its leadership and employee-involvement activities. Grote has been a member of Ideas America for nearly 20 years and has had an employee suggestion program since 1971. Blades was one of six nominees.

Hypertherm celebrated OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star recognition for its manufacturing facility at 71 Heater Road in Lebanon, New Hampshire. All of Hypertherm’s manufacturing locations are now designated as VPP Star worksites. The U.S. Department of Labor’s OSHA VPP Program acknowledges organizations that have outstanding safety and health practices. To qualify, Hypertherm had to demonstrate a comprehensive safety and health-management system, submit detailed records and undergo rigorous evaluations by OSHA. AM General’s designs for advanced postal vehicles were selected by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) as part of the USPS Next Generation Delivery Vehicle Prototype awards. AM General will build a series of prototype vehicles that seek to provide fuel efficiency and zero-emissions capability. AM General’s design is intended to grow with the delivery demands on the postal service and ensure that USPS can manage the changing mail mix with improvements in safety, efficiency and reliability. The postal vehicles’ design and development will be conducted at AM General’s Center for Advanced Automotive Design in Livonia, Michigan. announced that it will enter into a partnership with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz on his newest truck build. The company will provide all of the accessories for Wentz’ new pickup. The Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) presented Keystone Automotive Operations Inc. with the Co-Man of the Year award—earned by a member who exhibits continued support for and achieves commendable growth with The Group. Formed through the merging of joint efforts and resources of the Federated and Pronto programs, The Group has established one of the largest automotive-parts supply networks in North America for its members.
