Registration Open for 2020 SEMA Middle East Business Development Conference

By Linda Spencer

Registration is now open for the March 31–April 7, 2020, SEMA Middle East Business Development Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This program, held in partnership with the U.S. government, is the 24th trip SEMA has organized to provide members with a low-cost, high-value, turnkey trip to explore promising markets overseas.

Participants will exhibit at the largest show in the region (Custom Show Emirates), attend briefings with top trade buyers and the U.S. government and tour specialty-equipment shops to see how products get to the market. The Middle East market, with its high disposable income coupled with a passion for personalization and its strong racing and off-roading scene, is an attractive region, and up to $1,250 in U.S. government grants are available to defray the cost of participating for qualified companies.

Register now or contact Linda Spencer, SEMA’s senior director, international and government affairs, for more information.

“The SEMA trip to the Middle East was a great experience,” said Josh Abbott (right), global sales manager for Borla Performance Industries Inc. “Thanks to the always amazing and very professional SEMA crew, we once again had the chance to meet a great selection of buyers from the region, conducted critical and very useful conversations with existing partners, and had the opportunity to learn about the market itself. For Borla Performance, the UAE continues to be one of the most rewarding territories in the Gulf region. The market consists of mostly young and middle-aged enthusiasts with a higher disposable income and immense love and passion for cars and modifications, which translates into strong business potential. We will sure go back next year to capitalize on future opportunities.”
