SEMA is now accepting nominations for council and network select committee positions.

Nominations are now being accepted for select committee positions on SEMA’s councils and networks.

SEMA council or network select committee volunteers work alongside automotive professionals from different segments of the industry and identify common challenges. More importantly, they work toward solutions, make key connections, grow in their professions and gain fulfillment from being an integral part of something bigger.

If you are ready to dive deeper into the industry, or if you know someone who is, now’s your chance to nominate yourself or fellow professionals who have the skills and character to influence industry progress.

Currently, there are 10 councils and networks within SEMA. Councils work to identify related business goals, issues and challenges for member companies in a particular market segment, while the professional networks are a platform for individuals within a SEMA-member company who share a common interest or characteristic.

Join your peers and become an industry leader. Nominate yourself or another exceptional SEMA-member employee today by using the quick and easy online councils nomination form. Nominations must be received by midnight February 23, 2018. The select committee elections will take place in late April.

For more information about SEMA’s councils and networks or the nomination and election process, contact Katie Carson.

      Las Vegas
Start booking your SEMA Show hotel rooms now through OnPeak.

Visit the SEMA Show’s Travel & Lodging page now to reserve hotel rooms for the 2018 Show. Booking early allows attendees and exhibitors to take advantage of the hotel and travel discounts negotiated by SEMA Show management.

“We work hard to include hotel rooms in our room block for every budget,” said Tom Gattuso, SEMA trade shows director. “Often there are financial incentives to booking a room early. This works out well because our system allows for you to reserve a room with no deposit or cancellation fees. So you are able to lock in a low rate and also have the flexibility to modify your reservation if your Show plans change.”

OnPeak is the official SEMA Show Housing Services provider. Benefits to booking through OnPeak include:

    • Guaranteed low rates.
    • No penalties for adjustments or changes to reservation.
    • No booking, change or cancellation fees.

The SEMA Show Travel & Lodging page features a frequently updated, real-time listing of the hotel deals and discounts available for the 2018 Show.

Read more about the benefits of booking through the Show’s official housing provider.

Note: Attendees and exhibitors should be vigilant if approached by companies or services other than OnPeak that implies or claims to be an official housing provider of the SEMA Show. Management is aware of other housing companies and travel agencies that may be aggressively pursuing you or your company to book your guest rooms through their company at supposedly significant discounts.

Reservations made through an agency other than OnPeak are at your own risk. Exhibitors and attendees contacted by another housing company trying to sell hotel rooms should notify SEMA Show Management at 909-396-0289.

Motovicity Appoints New Head of Marketing; Launches “Scratch and Dent” Savings Program

Motovicity Distribution has hired Curtis Schabath as its new marketing manager. With more than a decade in marketing, a majority of that being in the automotive (GM and VW) and agency realms, Schabath specializes in digital strategy, experiential promotions and content creation. Together, Motovicity and Schabath plan to utilize targeted campaigns, advertising, Motovicity-produced events, while evolving the company’s website to become more of an overall presence in their fields.

In addition, Motovicity is adding savings through a newly implemented products imperfection initiative. With thousands of parts regularly leaving and entering Motovicity’s storage space, some are bound to have been mishandled or manufactured with a cosmetic flaw. Since Motovicity is not a retailer, restocking is not an option; therefore, “Scratch and Dent” is Motovicity’s way of taking care of mishaps and benefitting all parties involved. Customers will be able to see photos of the actual merchandise and read a thorough condition report of the exact product in the photo. On top of the strict due diligence put forth in verifying these parts, the transparency of price reduction ensures that buyers not only know what they will receive, but also that there’s a significant price reduction that overly justifies the savings.
