With July’s Collector Car Appreciation Day celebration just around the corner, media personality Courtney Hansen is promoting this automotive “holiday” in a new video public service announcement. A lifelong gearhead, Hansen is well known for television roles that have included host of “Overhaulin’,” Spike TV’s “Powerblock” and Velocity Television Network’s “Vinsetta Garage.” She is also the author of The Garage Girl's Guide to Everything You Need to Know About Your Car.
Featuring Hansen’s own ’57 Ford Thunderbird, this business-focused video may be posted and shared. A companion piece may be posted and shared by individuals and car clubs to encourage enthusiast involvement as well.
Recently, the U.S. Senate passed Senate Resolution 176 (S. Res. 176) at the request of the SEMA Action Network (SAN) designating July 12, 2013, as Collector Car Appreciation Day. The date marks the fourth commemoration in what has become an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. By taking part in these events around the country, automotive enthusiasts are ensuring that their passion is honored and recognized.
Exciting events, such as this one, hosted by the Deerfield Lions club at Yankee Candle Village in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, will be held July 12 in honor of Collector Car Appreciation Day.
There is still time to get involved. Business owners have been registering their gatherings for inclusion on the official homepage. Event ideas are available. However you choose, please pay tribute to our hobby’s special day by planning an event at your business in honor of the occasion. Encourage others to follow suit. Let’s get those cars and trucks out of the garage and onto the road!
