Falken Tire launched a special sweepstakes featuring a ’13 Ford Mustang
customized by Team Falken drivers Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin Jr.
The Sweepstakes was announced as the Formula Drift season kicked-off this
past weekend at the Long Beach Grand Prix in Southern California. The
winner will be awarded the grand prize at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las
Vegas. "This is a one-of-a-kind Mustang, and both drivers took a great
deal of time and interest in making sure it had the right combination of
parts and grip so that it will provide the sweepstakes winner with a
really nice ride," stated Jonathan Bradford, Falken's drift supervisor. Sweepstakes entries can be made by completing the entry form and posting
a "like" on Falken Tire's Facebook page. Entries can also be made at
the Falken Tire website. The sweepstakes runs throughout the Formula
Drift season, which culminates with the "Title Fight," Round 7, on
October 12–13.

King Releases Video Featuring Bearing Performance Seminar
King Engine Bearings released a video of its "Race Engine Bearing Lubrication, Clearances & Tolerances” technical seminar, which was originally presented at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show (PRI) and the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS). Society of Automotive Engineers - Australia Names Geoff Pearson Executive Director
The Society of Automotive Engineers – Australia has appointed Geoff Pearson as executive director. Pearson replaces previous executive director Max Chanter, who is retiring. SAE-A President Bill Malkoutzis stated, "Geoff has been active in SAE-A programs for many years, particularly the international Formula SAE-Australasia education competition for engineering students hosted by the Society at the end of every year."

Yokohama recently planted an additional 2,500 seedlings at its plant in Salem Virginia as part of the company's ongoing "Forever Forest" program.
   

Yokohama Plants 2,500 More Trees at Salem Facility

planted an additional 2,500 tree seedlings at its manufacturing plant in Salem, Virginia, bringing the facility's total seedlings planted to 6,800. Yokohama aims to plant more than 500,000 trees worldwide by 2017 as part of its ongoing "Forever Forest" program. The Forever Forest campaign is under the direction of ecologist Dr. Akira Miyawaki, well known for his successful reforestation activities around the world. Under his guidance, Yokohama’s parent company, The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., is on course to attain its goal of a half-million trees planted over a 10-year period at Yokohama’s 17 locations worldwide. To date, more than 200,000 trees have been planted. In its sixth year, the Forever Forest project is thriving in Japan, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Thailand and the United States.

Boulé Named Director of Corporate Sponsorships for Petersen Museum
The Petersen Automotive Museum hired David Boulé as director of corporate sponsorships. The position was recently created in response to the growing number of companies looking to support the museum as part of their marketing and communication activities. "As the Petersen continues to realize its potential and vision, we knew it was important to have a person who could find, nurture and ensure the satisfaction of our many corporate partners. Dave is that person,” said Buddy Pepp, executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum. "With a notable background in marketing and communications and experience across the spectrum of the automotive industry, Dave is the perfect professional to lead the Petersen’s corporate sponsorship program.”
