At the SEMA Show, new products cause cameras to flash, journalists to write and buyers to place orders. How can exhibitors get the spotlight focused on their latest creation? Entering the 2010 SEMA Show New Products Showcase is a strong start.
“The New Products Showcase is arguably the single best, most effective tool exhibitors have to reach the largest audience possible,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events. “It’s not just about showcasing the product in a prominent area at the Show, it’s also about maximizing the exposure throughout the year. When you consider that every exhibitor can enter a product at absolutely no cost, it’s baffling to me that someone would pass up the opportunity.”
Yes, you read correctly. Any SEMA Show exhibitor can enter a product in the Showcase and stimulate traffic to their booth—for free! There are a total of 15 categories, and exhibitors are allowed one entry, at no charge. Additional entries are allowed and can only increase your exposure. This is where the savings come into play. Whether exhibitors decide to enter the same product in multiple categories, or simply want to enter more than one product in the Showcase, here’s how to save money. If you register your additional entries by October 8—that’s tomorrow!—you only pay $75 per additional entry. After October 8, the fee doubles to $150. So you’ve got 24 hours to complete the registration on your additional entries and still receive the low rate of $75. In planning your New Products Showcase strategy, consider the following categories in the Showcase:
- Interior Accessory Product
- Exterior Accessory Product
- Mobile Electronics Product
- Off-Road/4WD Product
- Performance-Racing Product
- Performance-Street Product
- Powersports Product
- Street-Rod/Custom Car Product
- Tire and Related Product (*New Category for the 2010 SEMA Show)
- Tools and Equipment Product
- Van/Pickup/Sport-Utility Product
- Wheel and Related Product (*New Category for the 2010 SEMA Show)
- Engineered New Product
- Merchandising Display
- Packaging Design
Located in the upper level of the South Hall, the Showcase is broken down by these categories, both for judging in the New Product Awards and so that attendees are able to easily find products for their respective markets. Exhibitors who enter a product in the Showcase will have their entry displayed in the showcase, featured in SEMA publications, promoted online by media outlets worldwide and judged for a New Product Award.
The New Products Showcase is the number-one reason attendees make the annual trip to Las Vegas. Take advantage of the lowest rates on additional Showcase entries, and register your product today!
