For 2010, SEMA and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) have created a tire-industry-only part of the SEMA Show.
As the world’s premier automotive specialty-products trade show, the 2010 SEMA Show, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 2–5, 2010, attracts more than 100,000 industry leaders from more than 100 countries and also provides a unique opportunity for buyers and exhibitors to connect.
The Show covers the entire realm of the specialty-equipment industry and is comprised of 12 categories: Business Services; Global Tire Expo—Powered by TIA; Hot Rod Alley; Mobile Electronics & Technology; Paint, Body & Equipment; Powersports & Utility Vehicles; Racing & Performance; Restoration Marketplace; Restyling & Car Care Accessories; Tools & Equipment; Trucks, SUVs & Off-Road; and Wheels & Accessories.
Each will be highlighted separately every week in SEMA eNews. This week’s category is the Global Tire Expo—Powered by TIA. So far, 180 tire companies—of which 34 are first-timers—are exhibiting in the South Hall’s lower level.
For 2010, SEMA and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) have created this tire industry-only part of the SEMA Show, which will be open to all segments of the tire industry, including automotive, commercial, retreading, recycling and more.
“By working with TIA, we have created the Global Tire Expo to meet the needs of the tire industry,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. “We're excited and confident that the 2010 SEMA Show and the Global Tire Expo will be more meaningful and relevant than ever before for tire manufacturers and buyers.”
Kersting points out that the SEMA Show has the added benefit of drawing more than 50,000 buyers from all over the world, including those not currently in the tire market. “Many buyers at the SEMA Show are looking to expand their product lines to include tire-related products. The dedicated floor section and the other new programs will help buyers discover the potential that the tire industry has to offer.”
This section features the latest innovations in performance and off-road tires for passenger cars, light trucks, SUVs and racecars. Among preregistered buyers of the 2009 SEMA Show, 16% said tires were among their top product interests, while 23% of international buyers selected agreed. Forty-two percent of all preregistered buyers and 37% of international buyers carried tires. Ten percent of trucks and accessories preregistered buyers selected tires as a top product interest. Thirty-eight percent of buyers sell to the tires market.

result of all this effort is the new Global Tire Expo—Powered by TIA,
and it’s been warmly received by the industry. We’re confident the Expo
will quickly be regarded as the tire industry event of the year.”
The Expo will also include expanded educational session tracks targeted to the tire market. The tracks are “TPMS at 10,” “Tires at 2,” “Truck Tires at 10” and “Management at 4.” Every day of the Show, each track will feature a session relevant to tire dealers and led by knowledgeable experts in the tire industry. The educational sessions will be located in the Skybridge between the Central and South Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
