Movers & Shakers: ACI's Britta Dahl; Barry Grant Hires Oval Track Veteran Bobby Whiteman; CarDomain Acquires StreetFire.net

ACI (Agri-Cover Inc.) hired Britta Dahl in its marketing department as graphic designer. Dahl will oversee the company’s creative materials for print and online advertisements and literature.

The CarDomain Network acquired StreetFire.net, an automotive file-sharing website. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined company will continue to invest in product improvements to both CarDomain.com and StreetFire.net. Glenn Rogers, previously CEO of StreetFire, will run the combined company as CEO.

Barry Grant appointed Bobby Writeman to the company’s technical department. Writeman’s industry experience includes 32 years as an oval track sports manager for Holley Carburetors.

Eaton Automotive, a division of Eaton Corp., announced that Jeff Saxton was moved to sales engineer for its Automotive Aftermarket Performance Products group. Saxton's responsibilities include technician training and rep group management. He has been with Eaton since 1991.

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has teamed with Bridgestone Americas business units Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations and Bridgestone Retail Operations LLC to create a seven-minute reference video for consumers. The video, available at www.tireindustry.org, covers tire sizing, tire-replacement guidelines, proper tire rotation and more.

Tire Review magazine and AskPatty.com have developed an educational and marketing program specifically for tire dealers to help tire retailers improve their marketing and sales skills to become “Certified Female Friendly.”

Schrader Bridgeport International Inc., a division of Tomkins Industrial and Automotive, has unified its global business units under the Schrader International brand. Following a 1996 merger with Bridgeport-Piedmont to form Schrader Bridgeport International Inc., the Schrader Bridgeport name was used only in the United States, while other Schrader entities around the world operated under various Schrader names.

Marvin Bok’s ’39 Ford convertible

Marvin Bok’s ’39 Ford convertible captured the Goodguys 2009 Street Rod d’Elegance award at the 9th Del Mar Nationals Sunday, April 5, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Built by Ben York’s Roseville Rod & Custom in Northern California, the convertible has been popular on the show circuit so far this year.

It was selected by Chip Foose for the Chip Foose Design of Excellence Award at the Grand National Roadster show prior to sweeping the d’Elegance title in Del Mar.

Mobileye Inc. has established a retail and distribution relationship with mobile electronics retailer Al and Ed’s Autosound. Mobileye’s Advance Warning System aftermarket driver-assistance product will be available for purchase and installation at more than 20 Al & Ed’s locations in California, and the through the company’s website at www.al-eds.com.
