Tell us about what your company does?
Hawk Hardware Speed Shop is a full-on speed shop selling everything to rat-rod builders, classic-car owners, car-show folks, race-car drivers and builders.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
Seeing all the really cool cars and trucks our customers own or are building. Plus, the wonderful car people I meet each day. Car (and truck) people are the best around, I say. You talk automotive, you have a friend almost instantly with like-minded folks!

How long have you been involved in the aftermarket industry?
More than 20 years.

What brought you to the industry?
My love of anything automotive. I started off showing cars, then moved into racing. Now, I enjoy racing, restoring and building cars and trucks when I have free time.

What are your major professional accomplishments?
I’ve been ASC certified for eight years and a car show judge for more than 20 years. I was the first female president of a local sports car club (TLSCC), and the first female president of a classic car club (Fab Fords of Manchester). I’ve also developed and taught ladies’ basic automotive repair classes at a local community college for four years.

Are you a member of other organizations?

Who is your industry mentor?
Jean Lindamood Jennings and Amy Boylan are two of my personal favorites.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Never give up.

What would someone meeting you for the first time be surprised to learn?
That I race cars and work on them. People tell me I don’t look like I do either.

What is your dream car?
A ’68 Shelby GT500 or GT40 (I own one of my others—a Factory Five Cobra replica).

What is your favorite pastime?
SCCA racing, car shows, reading, spending time with my family and friends and being on the lake.
