Tammy Holland, New SBN Select Committee Chair
Tammy Holland will assume her new role as chairman of the SBN Select Committee effective July 1. As the chair-elect, she participated in the SEMA training sessions provided to all chairmen and chairs-elect during the Council Summit and during the year. She has been directly involved with all major decisions related to the SBN in preparation for this role of leadership over the next two years. Throughout her four years of participation with the Select Committee, Holland demonstrated an innate ability to run a tight ship. She has excellent organizational skills, knows how to delegate and has a wealth of long-term relationships in the industry. Personable and smart, Holland is the ideal person to fill this position. We wish her the best.
Sincere Thanks to S. Kellie Colf, Outgoing SBN Chair
In July, S. Kellie Colf of Eaton Detroit Spring Inc. moves into the position of immediate past chairman/advisor. The members of the Select Committee would like to extend our sincere thanks to Colf for her dedication and contributions of time, energy, talent, creativity and finances to the SBN. Colf is truly an amazing, inspirational woman in this industry, and it has been our great honor to work with her.
SBN Select Committee Nominations Are Complete
As this article goes to press, the nomination process for SBN Select Committee elections has been completed. Balloting will have taken place in May, and results will have been made public in June. We appreciate the time and thought all SBN members give to participating in this very important process. We know that the decisions were difficult to make, as all candidates on the ballot are extremely exceptional women in our industry.
The SBN Survey Is Complete and the Results Are in
The SBN Select Committee would like to thank the SBN members who participated in our recent SBN member survey. You will be pleased to learn that almost 25% of our membership participated in this important survey, and efforts to use this information to enhance the benefits of SBN membership are already well underway. In the coming weeks, the SBN will be sending out a series of e-mails to the SBN membership regarding specific survey result areas, and we will be requesting additional input from our members. Please watch for these important messages. We want to hear from you.
Message From Incoming Chairman Tammy Holland of Comp Cams Inc.
I would like to thank S. Kellie Colf for her past two years of dedication, time and leadership as chair of the SBN and express my gratitude for our deepened friendship. She has helped the SBN to flourish and grow in number and participation. Due to her skillful management, she has made an unforgettable mark that will serve as a challenge for future committee leadership.
As I chair the SBN over the next two years, the network will continue to build on the solid foundation established over the past few years. The SEMA Mentoring Program is becoming a more vital education component to SEMA members and is growing each month. May I suggest that anyone new to the industry or just starting in their own business take advantage of the opportunity to learn from the seasoned professionals in our industry. Visit The SEMA Mentoring Program to participate as a mentor or mentee. If you’ve got a question about the program, visit the site and just ask!
Once installed, I hope to expand SBN networking opportunities, grow awareness of SBN activities at SEMA and with all councils and committees and improve on our already popular SEMA Speed Networking Breakfast during SEMA Show week.
With the talented group of ladies we have in our industry, there are no goals we cannot accomplish. I look forward to your ideas and comments and encourage all women to consider membership with the SBN.
