SEMA has announced Australia as the fourth venue for its popular overseas Business Development Programs. The pilot project will be held May 25–29, 2016, in Melbourne, Australia.

The Professional Restylers Organization (PRO) is hosting its annual Long Range Planning (LRP) Meeting on June 15-16 in the nation’s car capital: Detroit, Michigan. The annual LRP is an opportunity for council members to address restyling industry issues and challenges, and weigh in on the needs of its member companies.

The event, to take place on July 27 in the SEMA Garage, will include the opportunity to participate in roundtables and seminars featuring seasoned exporters, top overseas buyers and other key stakeholders. In addition, each participant can participate in a 30 minute private, confidential meeting with an IPR attorney to learn about taking the appropriate steps to protect your patents and trademarks. It is also the setting in which we announce the newest selections for the SEMA Hall of Fame whose inductees represent not only our industry's history but also its members' dedication, service and devotion to their businesses.
The Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) is hosting a general membership meeting at the NSRA Nationals on August 3-one day before the event opens. General membership meetings are a great opportunity to learn more about the council and the resources available exclusively to HRIA members. Attendees will hear the latest updates from the select committee and enjoy an open discussion on the hot rod industry.
HRIA is once again hosting its Pinewood Builder’s Challenge at the National Street Rod Association (NSRA) Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky on August 5 and 6. The HRIA Pinewood Builders Challenge is an opportunity to showcase the skills of nationally known hot rod builders while raising money for SEMA Cares charities benefiting Childhelp and Victory Junction facilities.
SEMA will be holding another business development trip to China. At this event US manufacturers will have the chance to meet one-on-one with top pre-vetted buyers from the region, as well as visit shops, and receive first-hand experience on an emerging market.
