Empowering Female Leaders at the SEMA Show

In keeping with its mission to provide opportunities for professional women in the automotive specialty-equipment industry, the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) hosted a successful education session during the SEMA Show.

On the first day of show, the seminar "Men as Allies: How Allies Partner for Equality, powered by SBN" brought together women from all aspects of the industry.

In the highly collaborative talk, Julie Kratz shared stories, ideas, and research from her book, ONE: How Male Allies Support Women for Gender Equality, with four proven strategies for men and women to succeed together. Leaders that partner together do these things well – they practice empathy, listen, speak up, and integrate work and life. Together, Julie unpacked these core objectives:

- Building a plan using proven strategies to engage allies in your diverse and inclusive workplace

- Collaboratively created and enhanced allyship with leaders with unique perspectives and backgrounds

This successful education semiar was highly interactive among attendees and allowed for an open space to learn how to work with allies in a diverse and inclusive workplace and utilizing tangible tools and strategies to facilitate interactive discussions on allies in the workplace.
