STATE UPDATE

U.S. Congressman Sandy Levin Visits Motovicity Distribution

Representative Sandy Levin (D-MI) has long been a strong supporter of SEMA-member businesses and the automotive specialty-equipment industry. This past summer, Rep. Levin welcomed the opportunity to visit SEMA-member company Motovicity Distribution in his home district as part of the SEMA Congressional District Site Visit Program. The program connects SEMA-member companies with their federal lawmakers and creates working partnerships that continue well beyond the visit.

As the nation and our industry struggle with a still balky economy, SEMA’s charge is to stay on top of every relevant state and federal matter of consequence to its membership to ensure the best possible outcome.

Solving the Diesel Compliance Puzzle

About this product:

For almost a decade, there had not been an affordable test protocol for certifying emissions-related, on-road diesel parts or systems in California. During a portion of that time, SEMA engaged in the development of a test method (as an alternative to the very costly engine dynamometer protocol required of the diesel OEMs) that would allow California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Orders (EOs) to be completed without imposing significant financial burdens on applicants.
