A new report focused on the accessorization of utility task vehicles (UTVs, also known as side-by-sides) reveals that approximately 670,000 UTV models were sold in the United States in 2010-2012. Released by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), the 62-page report provides auto accessory businesses with an understanding of the needs and purchase habits of UTV owners and aids in their marketing, sales and product development efforts.
The SEMA Data Co-op is now helping more than 600 automotive specialty equipment Suppliers and re-sellers around the world standardize and manage their parts data to improve efficiency and increase sales, a 300 percent increase from August last year. The Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) is the trade organization representing the $31 billion automotive aftermarket industry.
Students at Ohio Technical College (OTC) may be able to win a scholarship for a one-year tuition, valued at up to $29,400. The scholarship is part of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Memorial Scholarship Fund (SMSF), which encourages and supports those pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket.
SEMA will host a webinar detailing the product development process, titled “10 Ways to Better Product Development.” This webinar will share recommendations on improving the product development process from beginning to end.
The SEMA Show Young Executives Network (YEN) Fellowship is a benefit available to SEMA-member company employees under the age of 40. In particular, the fellowship program demonstrates SEMA’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent among the next generation of specialty-equipment professionals. Fellowship participants are given the chance to attend the SEMA Show with travel expenses paid and receive hands-on experience by participating in a variety of events geared toward developing business skills and expanding professional networks.
