The WTC general membership meeting will take place Monday, November 3, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center, meeting rooms N219-N220 (North Hall, second floor). Open meetings provide a valuable opportunity for WTC members to come together, network and share ideas.
On July 1, two freshman members were elected to the Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) select committee. SEMA Member News interviewed Gavin Horlick of Voxx Wheel and Cheralyn Hale of Achilles Tire to learn more about their industry backgrounds and goals for their terms.

The SEMA Data Co-op (SDC) has recruited three new staff members to fill critical roles as the organization grows. The focus for these new hires includes systems development, member recruitment and product data services.
The partnership between SEMA and the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) is producing a great new resource for the wheel and tire industry. The Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) and CU-ICAR have been collaborating since 2013 on a vehicle dynamics research project studying the effects of plus-sized wheels and tires on the ’13 Ford F-150. Using advanced simulation models, researchers have been able to quantify the effects of various wheel/tire combinations on key areas of consumer priorities: routine and emergency handling, steering feel, ride comfort and various subsets of those categories.
Leaders and volunteers from the automotive accessories industry will be honored during the annual SEMA Installation Gala, Friday, July 18, at the Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center in Pomona, California.

The SEMA Data Co-op (SDC) enhanced its product data management tools to make it easier and faster for auto accessory suppliers to process their files. The new tools, which were introduced last month, will reduce the time it takes to load and validate large files from days to hours.
The photo cove in the SEMA Garage-Industry Innovations Center opened for business last month, as celebrity builders Pete Chapouris and Jimmy Shine of So-Cal Speed Shop utilized the studio to photograph a celebrated project car they are building for rock guitarist Billy Gibbons.
Nile Cornelison, Jim Cozzie, John Menzler and Fred Offenhauser will receive the industry's highest honor and be inducted into the SEMA Hall of Fame-an elite group of leaders who shaped and inspired the $31 billion automotive specialty-equipment market.
