Celebrate Mark Heffington's Induction Into the SEMA Hall of Fame

Mark Heffington began his career in the aftermarket industry as the chief cam designer for Crane Cams. In 1972, Heffington founded Cam Dynamics—at the time a leading manufacturer of high-performance and racing camshafts. He sold Cam Dynamics in the early ’80s and soon after, he began consulting on camshaft design and engineering and became a consultant for United Technologies and General Motors.

The 2011–2013 SEMA Board of Directors Candidates

Nineteen industry professionals are vying for a position on the 2011–2013 SEMA Board of Directors. The SEMA Board provides strategic direction to the association and plays a critical role in shaping the future of the automotive specialty-equipment industry. Election materials were mailed to the primary contacts at eligible SEMA-member companies within the corresponding categories May 17. The voting process, which is entirely electronic this year, will be ongoing until voting closes June 14. Election results will be published in an upcoming issue of SEMA News.

Town Hall Meetings: See You There

SEMA is on the move, and if you’re in the industry, you’ll want to know about it. The association’s presence this year at town hall meetings across the country is part of an important new strategic direction. Through the first six months of 2011, members of the SEMA staff will be visiting Scottsdale, Arizona, Fort Worth, Texas, and Charlotte, North Carolina, to join with local SEMA-member companies in hosting a series of relaxed, casual, grassroots gatherings of members. These town hall meetings will serve a number of purposes, including:
