Amid the hustle and bustle of the 2014 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, members of the Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) took the time one evening to network, reunite with old friends, enjoy food and beverages, and honor two members by welcoming them into the WTC Hall of Fame.
The Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) holds its Media Trade Conference each January. The event is designed to bring together editorial staffs with racing and high-performance parts manufacturers for three days of face-to-face, 30-minute meetings. Rich Barsamian, MPMC chair, has exhibited at the event seven times and explained that the council’s goal in offering the conference is to help council members gain exposure.
The Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA) industry awards reception was held November 5, 2014, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino (formerly the LVH). Open to all employees of LTAA-member companies and prospective members, the reception featured networking opportunities and three award presentations—the LTAA Hall of Fame, the LTAA Retailer of the Year and the LTAA Ron Webster Memorial Award for Engineering Excellence.
In 2014, HRIA once again collaborated with the Automotive Restoration Market Organization to showcase the artistry of their members in a Hot Rod Alley booth. This was a destination point for members who needed a break or wanted to reconnect with old friends. The booth featured three display vehicles representing the hot-rod niche and three others representing the restoration market. Throughout the week, members visited to enjoy the cars, rest their feet and share information about the council with other visitors to the booth.
The Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) kicked off a spectacular week of activities at the SEMA Show by hosting its annual industry awards reception at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino on November 4. A highlight for many council members each year, the event provides an opportunity to showcase the efforts of the very best people and companies who tirelessly work to keep the restoration industry moving forward.

The graying of the automotive specialty-equipment market is a theme that is currently receiving attention from SEMA’s Board of Directors, and Chair-Elect Doug Evans is especially passionate about the topic.
