2011 Leadership Days: Celebrating and Strengthening the Industry

Key to the association’s mission and growth are industry leaders and
volunteers who tirelessly give of themselves to serve on the SEMA Board of Directors
and member councils. To recognize these individuals and to encourage
the emergence of other industry volunteers to join their ranks, SEMA
presented its annual Leadership Days program on Wednesday, July 27,
through Friday, July 29.

Gearing Up for Leadership Days

We’re about a month away from when SEMA will pause to recognize the efforts of its Board of Directors and celebrate the election of 19 new Board members as well as four Hall of Fame inductees at the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser. As the outgoing Board members are honored for their service, the newly elected directors will be introduced and welcomed by SEMA members. This year’s event will be held at a new venue on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach, California. It is the culmination of SEMA Leadership Days—three days filled with activities that celebrate the spirit of the industry and its members.

Hobbyists Come Out in Force to Celebrate Inaugural "Collector Car Appreciation Day"

On Friday, July 9, 2010, collector car enthusiast organizations across
the country gathered to celebrate the first ever “Collector Car
Appreciation Day,” as designated by U.S. Senate Resolution 513 (S. Res.
513).  Events ranging from car cruises and shows to small business open
houses and special offers were held to honor the cultural and
educational importance of collector cars.  Car clubs, enthusiast
organizations, and affiliated businesses hosted over 100 events in more
than 40 states to commemorate this special day.

Leadership That Inspires

About this product:

John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States, knew a thing or two about leadership. One of his most famous quotes was, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” Those are also fitting words to describe the upcoming SEMA Leadership Days, to be held July 21–24 in Pasadena, California.

Attendees will “learn more” by taking advantage of this year’s Business Technology Symposium at the Pasadena Convention Center on Friday, July 23, from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The topics for this full day of instruction will run the gamut from “The Future of Mobile Marketing” and “Reaching Your Customers on Forums and Blogs” to “Market Research in the Digital Age” and “Social Media for Your Business.” Your business can’t afford to stand still in a rapidly changing world. Here’s a chance to jump ahead, where the learning is tailored for our industry and the networking with industry peers alone is worth your while.
