The deadline to register for the SEMA Installer Certification Exams is Wednesday, April 7, 2010. For more information, including bulk-registration discounts for the Z5/Custom Wheel and Tire Exam or the new Z6/Self-Adhesive Products Exam, contact Beverly Rosen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
SEMA certification is a voluntary process through which custom wheel
and tire technicians may prove their abilities to themselves, their
employers and their customers.
After joining SEMA, members in select markets have the added opportunity of participating in the SEMA council program. Members within specific niches are able to effectively address problems and concerns while identifying and capitalizing on shared opportunities.
The SEMA Installer Certification Program is designed to recognize installer competency and skill levels. The program was introduced in 2001 and includes four accessory modules: Electric Sunroofs (Z1); Body Exterior Components (Z2); Leather Interiors (Z3); and Roof Treatments (Z4). A fifth exam, Custom Wheel & Tire (Z5), was added in 2004.
The Test Preparation Guide & Registration Booklet is intended to
help accessory installers study and prepare for the SEMA certification
tests, and should be useful for reviewing the technical knowledge and
other requirements needed to pass each exam.
