On Friday, July 9, 2010, collector car enthusiast organizations across
the country gathered to celebrate the first ever “Collector Car
Appreciation Day,” as designated by U.S. Senate Resolution 513 (S. Res.
513). Events ranging from car cruises and shows to small business open
houses and special offers were held to honor the cultural and
educational importance of collector cars. Car clubs, enthusiast
organizations, and affiliated businesses hosted over 100 events in more
than 40 states to commemorate this special day.

2010 SEMA Show ‘N Shine, Saturday, July 24, 10 am – 4 pm, at the

Television hosts and automotive icons Chip Foose and Dennis Gage will
be signing autographs at the Second Annual SEMA Show ‘N Shine,
Saturday, July 24, at the Pasadena Convention Center. Autographs will
be free of charge with admission to the event, which is free for kids
12 and under, $5 for all others.
SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, urged the United States Senate to pass H.R. 5297, the “Small Business Jobs and Credit Act.” The House passed the bill in June. The legislation would create a $30 billion fund to provide banks with less than $10 billion in assets access to capital to lend to small businesses.
In an effort to move drag racing from the streets to the racetrack, the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and the Street Performance Council (SPC) have launched an all-new “Racers Against Street Racing” (RASR) website, located at www.rasr.org, that makes it easier for visitors to find a nationwide listing of sanctioned racetracks.
The Paint, Body & Equipment (PBE) section of the SEMA Show is the
fastest-growing area of the event, with nearly 45% more exhibitors
already confirmed to exhibit in just the specific PBE section during
the 2010 event compared to the previous year.
