SEMA Extends Registration Deadline for Installer Certification Exams

Heads up, accessory installers, restylers and custom wheel and tire specialists! The registration deadline for the SEMA Installer Certification exams has been extended to Friday, April 3.

Gain a quality advantage in your market. Certify your technicians, and reap the rewards. The SEMA program includes six exams. All tests will be offered on Thursday, May 7, at more than 700 test centers in the United States and Canada. Testing begins at 7:00 p.m. local time.

Automotive Professionals Earn SEMA Self-Adhesive Products Specialist Credentials

The SEMA Self-Adhesive Products Exam (Z6) was developed by a panel of industry experts familiar with the specific test topic. The Z6 exam was introduced in November 2008. The test is job-related and designed to measure a candidate’s competency and real-world skills.

Automotive Professionals Earn SEMA Custom Wheel & Tire Specialist Credentials

The SEMA Custom Wheel & Tire Specialist Exam (Z5) was developed by a panel of industry experts familiar with the specific test topic. The Z5 exam was introduced in 2004. The test is job-related and designed to measure a candidate’s competency and real-world skills.

Professional Installers Earn SEMA Accessory Specialist Credentials

The SEMA Installer Certification Program is designed to recognize installer competency and skill levels. The program was introduced in 2001 and includes four accessory modules: Electric Sunroofs (Z1); Body Exterior Components (Z2); Leather Interiors (Z3); and Roof Treatments (Z4). A fifth exam, Custom Wheel & Tire (Z5), was added in 2004. All exams are administered twice yearly, in May and November.

Introduction

The Test Preparation Guide & Registration Booklet is intended to help accessory installers study and prepare for the SEMA certification tests, and should be useful for reviewing the technical knowledge and other requirements needed to pass each exam.
