Spy Shots: Lamborghini's Retro-Named Replacement

Lambo Jota

An agent in Brenda Priddy's international spy photo cabal caught these shots of ice track mule testing for what she says is Lamborghini's Murciélago replacement. The new model is likely to be called the "Jota," in homage to a one-off, ultra-high-performance Miura built in the early '70s.

A direct-injection V12, aluminum space-frame chassis and extensive carbon fiber are likely to form the heart and body of the new bull, and Priddy speculates that a Haldex all-wheel-drive system will anchor the powertrain.

Don't expect to see this Italian finery debut for at least a year.
