The SEMA Self-Adhesive Products Exam (Z6)
was developed by a panel of industry experts familiar with the specific
test topic. The Z6 exam was introduced in November 2008. The test is
job-related and designed to measure a candidate’s competency and
real-world skills.
The SEMA Custom Wheel & Tire Specialist Exam (Z5)
was developed by a panel of industry experts familiar with the specific
test topic. The Z5 exam was introduced in 2004. The test is job-related
and designed to measure a candidate’s competency and real-world skills.
The
SEMA Installer Certification Program is designed to recognize installer
competency and skill levels. The program was introduced in 2001 and
includes four accessory modules: Electric Sunroofs (Z1); Body Exterior
Components (Z2); Leather Interiors (Z3); and Roof Treatments (Z4). A
fifth exam, Custom Wheel & Tire (Z5), was added in 2004. All exams
are administered twice yearly, in May and November.
