    SEMA NEWS-AUGUST 2009-FROM THE HILLLawmakers are seeking to enact legislation in 2009 that would fundamentally reform how Americans gain access to the nation’s health care system. A number of Congressional committees are now tackling the tough job of writing the legislation this summer, with a goal of completing action in both the House and Senate this fall. SEMA is taking this opportunity to identify some of the major issues being debated.

    SEMA Urges President to Seek Affordable Health Care Solutions for Small Businesses


    WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 4, 2009) – In a letter to President Obama, the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) pledged its continued support in helping small businesses gain access to affordable health care.  SEMA warns that the current legislation before Congress will not accomplish the mission since it ignores the structural reforms needed to reduce costs, increase competition and provide access to more choices.
