In today’s competitive market, quality and customer satisfaction go hand in hand. To increase consumer confidence and trust, and help build a more prosperous business, SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, now offers a certification program for professionals in the auto and light-truck accessory industry and the custom wheel and tire industry.

The SEMA Installer Certification Program was developed in cooperation with ASE, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. The program grants professional credentials to qualified and competent individuals and is an important step in career development. Certification also enhances the industry’s image and gives business owners a competitive edge in the marketplace.

The SEMA Installer Certification Program includes six exams focused on three key market segments. The accessory certification program includes four test modules: Electric Sunroofs (Z1); Body Exterior Components (Z2); Leather Interiors (Z3); and Roof Treatments (Z4). The custom wheel and tire specialist exam is known as the Z5. A sixth exam, the all-new Self-Adhesive Products Specialist (Z6) test, was launched in November 2008.

The six SEMA certification tests (Z1-Z6) will be administered on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at more than 700 test centers in the U.S. For registration materials and information, go to "Test Preparation & Registration Information" in the top right column and click on the appropriate link.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 7. Call Beverly Rosen at (909) 396-0289 x 158.
