HRIA Youth Awareness

The Youth Awareness Program is geared towards sparking interest in hot rodding, street rods and customs among younger generations. The program gives younger people a chance to see what the industry’s businesses do to add that special touch of flare, style and charm we all enjoy in a hot rod, street rod or custom. It also provides them with a view of the business side of things in parts and equipment—how parts are made from scratch to become a finished product. The success of the program depends upon the businesses’ willingness to share the wealth of knowledge and information they possess.

Through the youth-education initiative, members of HRIA, and SEMA members in general, are encouraged to invite students of a local high school or vocation school out to their businesses. The basic goal behind the program is to educate younger enthusiasts about the job opportunities available in the hot-rod industry and the automotive aftermarket as a whole.
