The challenge comes in the variance of formats that are used by different organizations to classify and store their own product data.Patty Putcharkan, data intelligence manager at MagnaFlow, explained that automotive product data historically has not adhered to any kind of industry standard, creating issues for organizations that need to exchange information. But Putcharkan has noticed that beginning to change.

The WTC’s Guide to the 2013 SEMA Show

It’s that time again! The 2013 SEMA Show is nearly upon us, and you can almost hear the hustle and bustle of the South Hall beginning to rev up as exhibitors, buyers and media prepare for what is anticipated to be a fantastic Show. A few of the must-attend events for the wheel and tire segment of the specialty-equipment industry are hosted by the Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) and include a general membership meeting and a networking and awards reception.

ARMO Industry Awards Reception ARMO leads off the week with its annual industry awards reception on Tuesday evening, November 5. The event will take place in Ballrooms D–E of the Las Vegas Hotel from 5:15 p.m.–7:30 p.m. In addition to networking opportunities, the council will take time to honor some of the individuals whose lives and work have made significant impacts on the industry. “We intentionally keep the reception about networking,” said ARMO Chair Alex Tainsh. “We really simplified the program a couple of years ago. We want to keep the program short and allow attendees the chance to meet and greet others in the industry.”

MPMC Hall of Fame, Class of 2013

Today, the MPMC Hall of Fame honors those who have made a significant contribution to MPMC and/or the motorsports parts manufacturing segment of the aftermarket. Each year, nominations are solicited from the MPMC general membership, and an MPMC Hall of Fame task force votes on the final selection of inductees based on stringent criteria. The formal induction ceremony will take place for this year’s honorees, detailed below, on Friday morning, December 13, at the Performance Racing Industry Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A New Look for the LTAA BoothThe Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA) booth will look a little different at the SEMA Show this year. When attendees first approach South Hall, they will notice five vehicles on display outside the entrance. This representation of the wide variety of LTAA-member companies and products is sure to be an eye opener for everyone. Inside the Upper South Hall, LTAA select committee members will be present at booth #34151 to interact one-on-one with attendees and answer questions.
