Racing News: Trans Am Series Heads to Canada, Ron Fellows Set for Return

Ron Fellows will return for his 100th Trans Am start as an entrant and part track owner next week at Round 4 of the 2014 Trans Am Championship—a part of the Castrol Victoria Day Speedfest Weekend. Competing in the TA class in the No. 6 Derhaag Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette, Fellows will race alongside Doug Peterson—driver of the No. 87 Chevrolet Corvette and defending TA Champion. Peterson currently leads the TA class in points with 94. Joining Peterson will be Tony Ave, Amy Ruman, Cliff Ebben, Simon Gregg, Allan Lewis, Andrew Romocki and Marc Steenbakkers.

Memorial Services Announced for Cindy DeLoach

Cindy DeLoach, 66, passed away, Wednesday April 9, 2014, following a two-month battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and pneumonia. She was married to automotive journalist and SEMA ambassador Dick DeLoach.

NHRA: Chevrolet Named Official Truck

CHEVROLET NAMED OFFICIAL TRUCK OF THE NHRA: The NHRA has signed a multiyear agreement with Chevrolet, designating the U.S. vehicle manufacturer as the Official Truck of the NHRA. As the Official Truck of the NHRA, Chevrolet will have a major on-site presence at all NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events. Most notably, the all-new Chevrolet Silverados and Suburbans will be used by the NHRA Safety Safari presented by AAA for emergency response and track preparation.

Ralph Panico Passes Away

On Friday, May 5, Ralph Panico celebrated his 75th birthday with family and friends. Two days later at 6:30 a.m., while sleeping comfortably next to his wife Judy, he succumbed to complications resulting from his long battle with diabetes.

Racing News: Royal Purple Announces Subaru Rally Team USA Partnership

Royal Purple has announced it has joined forces with Subaru Rally Team USA in a multi-year agreement. The team, managed by Subaru technical partner Vermont SportsCar, will begin to utilize Royal Purple products in each of its factory Rally and Rallycross teams.

NHRA: Sunoco to Become Official Sponsor

Sunoco will become an official sponsor of the NHRA in 2015. The 10-year agreement calls for Sunoco to become the official racing fuel of the NHRA and will be the exclusive on-site gasoline and nitromethane supplier at all NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series national events. Sunoco gasoline will be the spec racing gasoline in the Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories at national events and Competition eliminator categories at both national and NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events.
