Mopar Celebrates 75 Years With Four Modified Rides

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Mopar recently revealed four custom vehicles that will be on display at the upcoming 2012 Chicago Auto Show, February 10–19. The customized models that will carry what Mopar refers to as its best-in-class parts and accessories include the Mopar '12 300, ’13 Dodge Dart 'GTS 210 Tribute,' the ’12 Fiat 500 'Stinger' and the ’12 Mopar Jeep Compass 'True North.'

Earl Richey Owen Sr. passed away January 14, 2012, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born November 23, 1927, in Whitewright, Texas.

Herb "Mr. Phone" Goldstein Passes Away

Herb Goldstein, known in the performance aftermarket industry as "Mr. Phone," passed away Friday, January 13, 2012, at 1:20 p.m. (PST). Goldstein had a long and illustrious career as a high-performance manufacturer's representative for many major companies and was the guiding light in not only bringing those manufacturers to market but also helping to carry them into national prominence.

Board Restructure Approved by SEMA Members

After 120 days of voting, SEMA members approved a motion to amend the association bylaws to authorize, among other changes, a smaller board of directors. The vote concluded January 11, with more than 94% of voting SEMA companies registering their approval.
