Bob West, 2010 Board of Directors Nominee
I am honored that I have been nominated to serve SEMA members on the SEMA Board of Directors. Having served three terms on the Board in the past, I am fully aware of the responsibility that comes with this position and feel that I am qualified and looking forward to making a difference now and in the future.
I have been involved in the automotive industry for more than 35 years—hard to believe how fast time goes by. From my first job as a parts driver for NAPA, my experience has included being a small-business owner, buyer, manufacturer’s rep and sales and marketing manager. I am currently senior vice president of sales and marketing for Westin Automotive Products, which is based in Southern California. I am actively involved with a wide range of customers from truck accessory specialists, performance WDs, retailers, jobbers and OEs, which gives me a broad perspective when evaluating industry issues. From my management position with Westin and past experience of owning and operating other small businesses, I understand and appreciate the difficulties you have in competing in today’s complex market.
There are many issues today that affect our industry, such as increased competition, legislative, environmental, health care and, especially, the economy. I believe that our industry is changing at a rate that we have never seen in the past in all areas of manufacturing and distribution, and we need to be prepared to take advantage of these opportunities. I have participated on various task forces and committees within SEMA and have always enjoyed the experience.
I am asking for your vote today and promise to be unbiased and represent you fairly.
Thank You.
